Mary Rose green matcha tea is characterized by a light green color, a noble, slightly tart taste and a pleasant aroma. It is green tea, ground into a fine powder. It is made according to a method developed hundreds of years ago, which consists in shielding tea bushes from sunlight with special mats. This slows down the growth of the bushes. Their leaves take on a pale green color and begin to produce amino acids, which contribute to the sweeter taste of the tea and a more intense aroma. After harvesting, the leaves are dried and ground into a fine powder. Matcha originally comes from China, but it was particularly appreciated by the Japanese, becoming an inseparable element of their tradition and culture. Powdered green tea is used in a ceremony called cha-no-yu, which is carried out according to strictly defined rules. According to tradition, special tools are used to prepare it: a bowl (chawan) and a bamboo whisk (chasen). How to brew Mary Rose Matcha green tea?

Pour 1 flat teaspoon of powdered matcha tea into the container. Pour about 150 ml of hot water over the tea, at a maximum temperature of 70-80 °C. Whip the tea for about 30 seconds. Well-prepared matcha tea will have a uniform consistency. You do not need traditional props to prepare the infusion. You can replace the bowl with a cup, and the bamboo whisk with a milk frother or fork.
